RCA DS2122RD DIRECTV System
RCA’s DS2122RD DIRECTV system incorporates an 18-inch minidish and a room receiver with a 32-bit processor to bring digital picture and sound quality into your home. DIRECTV has a wide selection of basic channels, premium movie channels, pay-per-view and music networks for you and your family to choose from. The satellite dish has a single LNB output and connects to the back of the receiver.
The RCA DS2122RD broadcasts digital audio and video through your existing home theater system. Digital compression provides a sharp, clear picture. An active channel banner lists five channels of programming at once. The program guide provides two hours of information on seven channels. It also includes Scout, a search that scans the program guide based on keywords you enter. Parents can lock out certain channels and set rating and spending limits with the Guardian feature. These features can be managed by AlphaSort, which allows you to organize any guide alphabetically. The eight-event scheduler lets you program the receiver to tune to a specified channel and turn off at a preset time. The built-in timer can even be programmed to turn home appliances off and on.
Your kids can hook up video game systems to the S-video output for enhanced audio and video. You can also connect a camcorder or a VCR to the set of audio-video jacks. The universal remote control has color-coded buttons for easy operation. RCA offers a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor.
There are some terms and conditions with the purchase of this product. There is a limit of one DIRECTV system purchase and installation per customer. Only new residential DIRECTV customers may purchase a system. Buying this item signifies agreement to sign up for one year of DIRECTV programming. receivers must be activated within 45 days by calling (800) DIRECTV [(800) 347-3288]. Failure to activate service (or canceling service within one year of subscribing) may result in a $250 charge to the credit card used for the purchase. All returned systems and receivers will be inspected for original parts and access cards. If a receiver is returned without its access card, a $125 restocking fee may be charged to the credit card used for the purchase.

The RCA DS2122 satellite system has outstanding picture and sound quality. Wooo weee - loads of fun with huge amounts of channels to watch.
Downside is supscription prices similar to cable. Worth it for the quality of the pictures and selection.
Can’t figure out where to put the soap. Still looking for the button labeled “do the dishes”. Guess I still need a dishwasher.
Can this dish go from the freezer to the microwave to the table? I think this system should come with a digital chef or at least a cook book. Will your digital dishes taste as good as real food? Probably if you don’t over cook them. Can’t wait for digital spoon so I can eat.

This is a great system! I would reccomend it to anyone interested in purchasing a DSS system. I bought the dual LNB system (system with the satellite dish and 2 receivers) at Wal-Mart for a great price of $199.96. Radio Shack charges $149 for just the dish and 1 receiver. There is only one thing bad about it (and all sytems) if you want to add more receivers you have to buy another receiver and also have to purchase a special digital satellite splitter (to run the cable to different rooms of your home, because a regular splitter doesn’t work correctly) which runs from $50-$200. Which I had to buy to add a 3rd receiver. It was a little tricky finding just a receiver and not the whole sytem, but I did it. But overall, this is a great buy, and I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a DSS system.

I purchased a DSS system over a year ago. The system is wonderful! First of all, my monthly bill is less than what I was paying for cable and with a greater selection of sports, movies, and all programming. The picture is much clearer than cable, and that is including digital cable. The sound is exellent, and with the right equipment, it sound just like a movie theater. I would recommend the RCA DSS system to anyone who asks, and I do! If your debating switching to satellite, then I hope this sways your decision. No I don’t work for Directv either. By the way you will be able to receive local channels soon.
4 Stars Great system but doesn’t like bad weather.
This Directv system is wonderful. You can have access to all cable channels, also local channels through the same dish antenna without having to spend extra money for another dish. Also, going from one channel to another is very rapid compared to the other big company. But there is one thing that is not that great: if you live in a place where there is a lot of big storms, the signal will fade and eventually, you’ll lose the signal for a few minutes. The samething will happen if you have a snow build up on the dish antenna. But besides that, the Directv RCA system is wonderful. Great value, sound and image!
